OPEN GARDEN RAISES OVER £1500 for Lincs Ark!
We would like to say a huge thank you to Jill and Peter Hilton for very kindly opening their garden to the public for the second year running, we just cannot thank you enough for all you have done for us. We had beautiful weather and thanks to the 252 visitors who supported us we raised £1,550 which was fantastic!
A big thank you also to Nick and Jo for making scones for the cream teas and organizing the refreshments stall and the kitchen, it all ran like clockwork. Also their family, Ruth, Lizzie and partners for their support in the kitchen and continuous washing up!
Thank you to Peter and Jill’s friends and neighbours from the village who very kindly lent their garden furniture for visitors to sit at and enjoy their cream teas, and to those neighbours who helped with refreshments.
This year we were lucky enough to have use of the field opposite as a car park, so our thanks go to Dave Underwood for this and to Mr & Mrs Spiking for allowing us to use their land; it made such a difference to the success of the day.
Thank you to the stall holders that came along and supported us. Also to Lisa Hammond, Massage & Beauty Therapist for offering to give hand and foot massages and donating the proceeds to Lincs. Ark. Lisa raised £35!.
Finally Thank you to all our committee members and volunteers who come along to help on the day, bake cakes, bring produce and give up their time ,without you, running these events would not be possible.”
HELP PLEASE! Are you thinking about opening your garden to the public? Do you already open your garden? Would you like to support Lincs. Ark (animal welfare) at the same time? If so, please do contact us. We are looking for individual or a group of gardens that would be willing to do this for our charity. We can give you all the help you need. Even if you are not sure but would like to talk it through first, please call.

THANK YOU BAYTREE GARDEN CENTRE!!!
Lincs Ark would like to say a BIG thankyou to Baytree Garden Centre at Weston, Spalding. For the month of June they have kindly offered us space in their pet department to have a stand to help promote and raise awareness of our charity. The staff have all been very friendly and accommodating and we met some lovely, generous members of the public who have helped us raise over £65 to date (13.06.10), which will all go directly to helping the animals in our care.
Pictured left is volunteer Jo-anne Hill and two
of her rescued dogs, Maddison and Billy Bob who greatly enjoyed all the fuss and attention they received from visitors to the store.
FUNDRAISING AT FROG HALL
“A beautiful sunny evening on 17th June 2010, found us serving refreshments at Frog Hall Cottage, to the members of Wrangle Gardening Club. Kathy Wright of Frog Hall Cottage and plant centre invited us to help us raise much needed funds for our charity. We thoroughly enjoyed the evening; Wrangle Gardening Club were a great group and we would like to thank them for their generosity and of course thank you to Kathy and John Wright for inviting us and entrusting us with the refreshments!”
“Another big thank you to Kathy and John Wright of Frog Hall Cottage and plant centre! This time for opening their garden to the public on Sunday 27th June to help raise money for our charity. It was a very hot day and despite a number of live major sporting activities on the TV we still managed to give our funds a great boost! We had a number of stalls for the visitors to browse around and of course we served refreshments. Thank you to all the volunteers who worked so hard, before, during and after the event and a special thanks to our wonderful cake makers and thank you to those who donated produce for our stall.”

FOUR LEGGED FRIENDS RAISE £250 FOR LINCS ARK!
A big Thank You to Mary, Ginny, Cheryl and all at Four Legged Friends in Maidenhead Berkshire who held a fundraising Coffee Morning on Saturday 19th March and donated the proceeds to Lincs Ark.
We were very surprised and pleased to receive this wonderful boost to our funds.
Thank you so much for thinking of us!
SALES RAISE HUNDREDS FOR OUR RESCUE ANIMALS!
Hundreds of pounds have been raised for the animals in our care at our recent bric-a-brac sales. Thank you to all the volunteers who baked cakes and helped in doing an excellent job of sorting and selling items and to all of those who supported us by coming along and grabbing themselves a great bargain. We look forward to holding more later in the year so please keep an eye on our 'Events' page for details.'
Long Sutton Horse and Dog Show, held in June 2011, was a large event at which we had our first 'Soft Toy Tombola'. It surpassed all of our expectations and went fantastically well, in fact we raised £103! Michele, Julie, Jo and Chris went along to help out and had a fight to stay in the shade as it was such a hot and sunny day. Hundreds of people turned out to see the beautiful horses and dogs on show and a great day was had by all.
The Moulton Country Show in September 2011 turned out, unfortunately, to be a rather soggy affair. Our second 'Soft Toy Tombola' culminated in us making a mad dash for home, very wet and rather down-hearted after us biding our time for as long as we could! However, despite the heavens opening, we were very suprised and happy to have raised £21 for the charity. Thanks go out to Sheryl and Shaun of Canine Connoisseur dog biscuits, who let us shelter our table underneath their stand and to everyone who braved the elements.
We are hoping to have many more of these tombolas in the future so if anyone has any good quality, clean soft toys that they would like to donate to help us raise money for the animals, then please contact us.
In July 2011 we joined forces with Fenbank Greyhound Sanctuary to attend The Bricklayers Arms in Old Leake's, Anniversary Day. Despite being outside for hours, it being bitterly cold and us only raising £3.02 for Lincs Ark, we still managed to enjoy ourselves and have fun. Fortunately there was plenty alcohol on hand and the lovely, friendly staff there made us feel very welcome. Pictured below (centre), is Jo-anne with Sue, a volunteer from Fenbank and both customer and friend Stephanie.
SUMMER FUNDRAISING EVENTS 2011

FUN DOG SHOW RAISES OVER £500!
'Excited barks and frantic wags of tails filled Eastville Village Hall on Sunday 6th November 2011 when we held
our annual Fun Dog Show.
The hall was packed with families and their canine companions all joining in with the fun.
Whether entering classes or enjoying some of the many delights that came out of the kitchen, which was expertly manned by Chris and Pam, everyone seemed to have a good day out which all made for a lovely atmosphere.
We had raffles for a scrumptuous, homemade, doggy themed cake kindly donated by the very clever Sally, a raffle where the lucky winner won a painted portrait of his dog which was generously donated by the talented Dave Raynard and also our usual and highly popular 'Doggy Raffle'.
Best in Show this year was beautiful 'Joby', the rescued Afghan Hound, who is pictured with his very proud and delighted owner Anne along with judge Maxine Briggs.
Reserve Best in Show went to the exuberant Riley, pictured with owner Alan. She won the 'Waggiest Tail' class and was still wagging hard at the end of the day!
Huge thanks go to all of my very kind friends who came along to help, my mam Chris who plays a huge part in the organisation of this event and to all of the entrants who made the day so successful and helped us to raise a staggering £521.05!'
GOOD NEWS FROM OUR OCTOBER SALE AT KIRTON...
On 9th October 2011 we held another highly successful 'Bric-a-Brac' sale at Kirton Town Hall.
With lots of help from our volunteers, we managed to raise over £700!
If you have any good quality and saleable bric-a-brac to donate, please do contact us as we are always in need of items to sell at future events. Thanks to all involved with making it such a successful day.

AYSCOUGHFEE HALL SCHOOL CHOIR sang at Santa's Grotto by kind invitation of BAYTREE GARDEN CENTRE on Saturday 10th December and raised £64.75 for Lincs Ark. They did a brilliant job at the end of a very busy week when they performed 4 times. The audiences were very appreciative and the children were all stars - well done and a huge thankyou from everyone at Lincs Ark.
The money raised will help to pay for food and vets bills for the many animals which come into the charity's care.
Thanks also to Baytree for supporting the choir in their fundraising and giving them a platform and for offering to donate the proceeds from the sale of carrots for Santa's reindeer!

We would like to say a Big Thank You to Christine Dobbin, of ‘Cats by Christine’ for very kindly painting this really lovely portrait of “Twinkle”, one of our foster cats. This artwork was donated by Christine and will be used for our Lincs Ark Christmas cards to help raise funds.
After studying art at university for four years and then working as a veterinary nurse for six years, Christine developed a love for watercolour painting and animals. She is now taking time to combine her two loves by painting pet portraits.
If you might like to commission a portrait of your cat as a lasting memory, or would like to see more of Christine’s work, please get in touch with Christine via her website at www.catsbychristine.com
